Hip-spring star Wyclef Jean announced on Sunday that he will appeal a determination by Haiti's electoral council that prevents him from running in the Nov. 28 presidential choice.

Speaking to The Associated Press from his Haitian home in Croix des Bouquets, Jean, 40, declared his lawyers will appear before a Haitian court on Monday to seek reference of the case the decision with the national electoral dispute office.

The former Fugees rapper said he has a document "which shows everything is correct," and that he and his aides "be excited that what is going on here has everything to do with Haitian politics."

Jean's candidacy was rejected by the country's elections provision on Friday because he hasn't lived in Haiti for the above five years, as is required of presidential candidates.

Despite fears of unrest ~wards Jean's disqualification, Agence France-Press reported the capital city of Port-au-Prince appeared fall of the wind on Saturday and Sunday.

Jean, who had a strong following amid Haiti's young people, reaffirmed his commitment to the rule of order in a statement issued after the electoral council's decision.

"Tomorrow our lawyers are appealing the firmness of the CEP," he added in a Sunday message on Twitter, referring to the Conseil Electoral Provisoire, or Provisional Electoral Council. "We bring forth met with all the requirements set by the laws. And the formula must be respected."

A New York umpire has dismissed a lawsuit against the estate of Michael Jackson concerning failing to carry out a last tour with other members of the Jackson Five.

Concert promoter AllGood Entertainment Inc., of Morristown, N.J., sued Jackson notwithstanding $40 million US on June 10, 2009, two weeks before the chanter died.

AllGood had claimed the Jackson and his manager Frank DiLeo broke a concordat for a Jackson Five reunion when it agreed to a put on a ~ of London shows in the summer of 2009.

Apparel firm LA Triumph has sued the Queen of Pop, claiming that the recently made known juniors line "Material Girl," which she runs with daughter Lourdes, is a trademark breach on the company's line of the same name.

Per court papers filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, LA Triumph asserts it has been peddling its admit juniors line with the "Material Girl" moniker since 1997 and recognize the rights to the name.

This despite the fact that Madonna's germinal song came out in 1983. A rep for the singer was not without delay available for comment.

Per the suit, LA Triumph says it manufactures its wares in Cerritos, Calif., and offers them in stores like Nordstrom's and Ross. Lincoln's course of action fell quiet in the 1970s and '80s, after her marriage to Roach ended. She recorded up~ the body small independent labels, but she found new fame and acclaim whereas she signed with Verve Records/France and released "The World Is Falling Down," in 1990, some album that featured such jazz stars as pianist Hank Jones and trumpeter Clark Terry.

Before the procession, fans from as far as Japan and England browsed Graceland's sprawling remembrancer shopping centre and gathered under a large tent across the public way from the mansion to listen to performers belt out Elvis tunes.
