Elton John stage at Mexico ruins partly collapses
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Part of the stage being set up for a weekend concert by singer Elton John at Mexico’s famed Chichen Itza ruins collapsed during construction, injuring three workers, authorities said Thursday.

Placido Domingo had colon cancer surgery
Tenor Placido Domingo has been treated for colon cancer, his publicist announced Monday. (Placidodomingo.com)
Placido Domingo’s surgeons removed a cancerous polyp on his colon when the renowned singer and music director was in hospital last week.
On Monday, his spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer said the malignancy was localized and Domingo is expected to make a full recovery.
